ENGAGE Divulges Its First Look At ‘Link’ Metaverse Platform For Education and Enterprise

The XR enterprise and education metaverse company,ENGAGE, has revealed its Link social platform today. The company refers to it as a completely featured corporate metaverse.

Formerly codenamed as Oasis when it was first revealed in June 2021, the Ireland-based studio addresses Link as a “professional metaverse”, because it was designed to host persistent virtual worlds that serve as gateways to individual spaces, where there will be an interaction amongst students, employees and individual users.

The studio released a six-minute video, the link of which is given below-

In this video, Chris Madsen of ENGAGE introduces to us the basics of the Link platform, that starts with “Central Plaza”, a jumping off point to other worlds and simultaneously serving as a location for meetup for various events. Heading through any one of the portals takes us to what the company refers to as a “Metaworld”, or virtual persistent locations that are specifically built for individual businesses.

Madsen further shows two more hubs, which are- “Education Plaza” and “Enterprise Plaza”, which respectively arrange portals according to educational and business content.

Link also has an “Apartment Plaza”, which hosts personal spaces, that are of course configurable, for anyone who joins the particular platform, available as a kind of Home space, and not particularly for enterprise or education-focused users. Madsen calls the user’s virtual penthouse a chance to have family and friends over and to hangout, socialize, watch movies and spend a great time. Apart from being able to customise the apartment, Madsen also shows a simulation room, the purpose of which is to launch bespoke experiences.

This follows the studio’s €9 million (~$10.7 million) funds raised last year which stimulated the creation of Link, which Engage XR told at the time will be pitched as a chance for corporate users to widen their customer base and also provide immersive services at an affordable price.

We can access Engage through SteamVR headsets, Pico headsets, Meta Quest 2, Vive Focus Plus, along with desktop and mobile devices. In order to know more about additional features and pricing, one can visit the company’s website.
